Here’s a detailed 4-day tour itinerary covering Amman, Madaba, Mount Nebo, Dana, Shobak Castle, Little Petra, Petra, Wadi Rum, and the Dead Sea.
Amman – Madaba – Mount Nebo – Dana Biosphere – Shobak Castle – Petra Morning • Pickup from Amman (Hotel or Airport) • Drive to Madaba (Approx. 40 min) o Visit St. George’s Church, home to the famous Mosaic Map of the Holy Land (6th century). o Explore other Byzantine-era mosaics around the city. • Drive to Mount Nebo (Approx. 15 min) o Visit the Memorial of Moses, where he is believed to have seen the Promised Land. o Panoramic views of the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Jerusalem (on clear days). o Explore ancient mosaics and the church ruins. Midday • Drive to Dana Biosphere Reserve (Approx. 1.5 hours) o Short stop to admire the stunning views of Jordan’s largest nature reserve. o Optional short hike if time permits. • Drive to Shobak Castle (Approx. 40 min) o Explore the 12th-century Crusader castle, originally built by King Baldwin I of Jerusalem. o See secret passages, a hidden escape tunnel, and ancient inscriptions. Evening • Drive to Petra (Approx. 1 hour) • Check in at a hotel in Wadi Musa (Petra town). • Optional: Visit Petra by Night (if available, extra ticket required). • Dinner & overnight in Petra.
Petra – Little Petra – Wadi Rum Morning • Breakfast at the hotel. • Explore Petra (UNESCO World Heritage Site). o Walk through the Siq, a narrow canyon leading to the majestic Treasury (Al-Khazneh). o Discover the Royal Tombs, Street of Facades, and the Roman Theater. o Hike up to the Monastery (Ad-Deir) for breathtaking views. o Explore lesser-known trails if time allows. Midday • Drive to Little Petra (Al Beidha) (Approx. 15 min) o A smaller version of Petra with rock-cut facades and carved tombs. o Visit the Neolithic ruins (dating back to 7,200 BC). Afternoon – Evening • Drive to Wadi Rum (Approx. 2 hours) • 2-hour Jeep Safari Tour in Wadi Rum o Visit Lawrence’s Spring, Sand Dunes, Khazali Canyon, and the Mushroom Rock. o See ancient Nabatean inscriptions and unique rock formations. o Watch the stunning desert sunset. • Dinner & Overnight in a Wadi Rum desert camp. o Enjoy Bedouin hospitality with a traditional Zarb dinner (underground BBQ). o Stargazing under the clear desert sky.
Wadi Rum – Dead Sea – Amman Morning • Sunrise in Wadi Rum (Optional Camel Ride). • Breakfast at the camp. • Drive to the Dead Sea (Approx. 3.5 hours). Midday & Afternoon • Relax at the Dead Sea o Experience floating in the saltiest body of water on Earth. o Enjoy the therapeutic benefits of Dead Sea mud. o Relax at a resort with pools and spa facilities (optional). Evening • Drive back to Amman (Approx. 1 hour).
After breakfast, starting the visit which lasts two hours, and is carried out in
peculiar 4 x 4 vehicles driven by Bedouins, (6 people per car) it consists of a small
incursion into the lunar landscape of this desert. On our walk we will observe the
wonders that nature has done and the erosion of rocks and sand. At the end of the
visit, continuation to QAIA
